Since 1986, the Kiwanis Club of Clovis has been honored to provide college scholarships to outstanding seniors in the Clovis Unified School District. Again, this year, a two-thousand-dollar ($2,000) scholarship will be awarded at CUSD high schools to graduating seniors who are judged to be the most outstanding all-around student of their respective graduating class. Additionally, there will be a one-thousand-dollar ($1,000) scholarship for the runner-up at each school.
The scholarship funds will be deposited in an account at an educational institution named by the recipient. The college or university will draw directly from the fund as needed to pay for tuition, fees, room and board, or books as those expenses are incurred by the recipient. The money awarded may not be used for any other purpose. All the funds received through this scholarship must be spent by June 30, 2023.
Each application will be reviewed by a committee composed of members of the Kiwanis Club of Clovis. The committee will select applicants for interviews. All information provided in this application will remain confidential.
All graduating seniors at Buchanan, Clovis, Clovis East, Clovis North and Clovis West High Schools are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
The committee’s decision will be based on its assessment of a combination of the applicant’s, academic achievement; involvement in school activities and community service; character, and maturity.
